Chikungunya is a disease caused by a virus spread by a mosquito that causes arthritis type symptoms in its victims. The viral infection is transmitted through the bite of Aedes mosquitos. Chikungunya is quite widespread, as it occurs in many parts of Asia, Africa, Central, and South America. On the other hand, Dengue is a viral disease transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes that cause pain and some bleeding. Four strains of the virus are linked with the major vector of Dengue, which is the mosquito. Symptoms include headache, fever, and bleeding, which can become severe. The illness is found in subtropical and tropical parts of the world.

Chikungunya and dengue are two types of viral infections. They are both carried by mosquitoes. People who get affected are those who are bitten by infected mosquitoes. One of the differences is that there are two different types of viruses. Chikungunya comes from the Togaviridae alphavirus.

Dengue, on the other hand, is caused by Flavirideae flavivirus. The symptoms of these two conditions are similar but you should take note of where the rashes can be seen. The rashes of a person with dengue can be seen on the arms and the face. The rashes of a person that has Chikunguya will appear on the arms and the torso.

Chikungunya refers to a viral disease that is being transmitted by mosquitoes and has its symptoms as arthritis in people. The species of mosquitoes that are responsible for the transmission of this viral disease are the "Aedes mosquitoes" and "A. aegypti mosquitoes."

The disease is dominant in Africa, Asia, Central and South America. Chikungunya causes symptoms that look like that of arthritis, such as pain and swelling at joints. This can also lead to muscular pain, as well as headache. Dengue, on the other hand, is also a viral disease that is transmitted majorly by Aedes mosquitoes, which can definitely lead to pain and bleeding.

The subtropical and tropical parts of the world are the major places that house this disease, such as Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, and several islands in the pacific. The symptoms of this disease include rash, fever, headache, and severe bleeding in some cases. Nausea, vomiting, joint and muscle aches are also possible symptoms.

Dengue and Chikungunya are both viral diseases with similar symptoms, and these symptoms include high fever, headache, eye pain, joint pain, rashes, and extreme fatigue. The Aedes mosquito spreads both infections. Dengue is far more lethal and may require urgent attention. It is also possible for someone to have Dengue and Chikungunya at the same time.

A significant difference between the two is that Dengue involves the person bleeding. Different viruses also cause them. Chikungunya is caused by an alphavirus, while a flavivirus causes Dengue. Dengue is more common, and death from acquiring it is possible.

However, a distinguishing feature of Chikungunya is severe joint pain that can last for years, causing long term effect on the person's quality of life. There may be swelling, and pain is typically worse in the morning. Dengue may cause life-threatening conditions such as difficulty breathing and shock.

Foremost, chikungunya refers to a disease that is caused by mosquitoes, being a form of virus spread caused by arthritis symptoms in individuals. The cause that is responsible for the transmission of this viral disease is the bite of “A. aegypti” and “A. albopictus”, some kinds of Aedes mosquitoes. This chikungunya occurs largely in various parts of Africa, Asia, South America, and Central America. Its symptoms are similar to that of arthritis, such as swelling and pain at the joints. Headache, as well as muscular pain, can also be developed by the infected fellow. On the other hand, dengue also refers to a viral disease that is transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, which causes bleeding and pain. “A. aegypti” and “A. albopictus” mosquitoes are the major vectors of dengue. This illness has been discovered in some tropical and subtropical parts of Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, as well as several islands in the pacific. Its symptoms include fever, headache, bleeding, or rash.

Dengue and Chikungunya are known to be carried by the same type of mosquito but they are both different viruses. Chikungunya is caused by the “Togaviridae alphavirus.” Dengue, on other hand, is caused by “Flaviridae flavivirus.” People may experience different symptoms when they are suffering from these viruses. Chikungunya may cause people to have a fever, joint pain, muscle pain, and eye infection. Those who have dengue may experience rashes, eye pain, pain in joints, and so much more. Take note that there are instances when they can be transmitted together. It will help if people would protect themselves from the deadly mosquitoes so that they will not become infected.

Some insects have the ability to carry diseases and spread them to others. Mosquitoes are one of those insects that can do so. Two diseases that they carry are Chikungunya and Dengue. Both have the ability to create symptoms that are similar to those who experience arthritis.

Chikungunya creates symptoms like rashes and fever. Dengue creates symptoms in a person like bleeding. Another difference between them is how many people will have symptoms. Only 75% of people experience symptoms of chikungunya. They will start to show within 3 days. Meanwhile 25% of people have dengue. They will show symptoms in 4-7 days.

A lot of people say that the symptoms of dengue and chikungunya seem to be the same. You need to remember that one similarity between the two is that they both come from insects. You should know their differences so that you will be able to distinguish one from the other. For those who have chikungunya, they may develop joint pain but not to the point that the joints will start to swell up.

The headaches that will be experienced when someone has dengue can be severe in the sense that it will be the front portion of the head that will hurt a lot while for those who have chikungunya, the pain may be around the head. Knowing where it hurts can help you distinguish one disease from the other.

Chikungunya and dengue are both viral diseases spread by mosquitoes. Although both diseases are transmitted by mosquitoes, dengue causes bleeding and has symptoms similar to that of arthritis, while chikungunya only causes arthritic-like symptoms such as fever, rash, joint, and severe muscle pain, headache, etc. It is true that both are viral diseases, but the causative agent of chikungunya is an alphavirus, whereas the causative agent of dengue is a flavivirus. According to researches, out of 100% of people who are infected with chikungunya, 75% are most likely to start showing symptoms. In contrast, only about 25% of those who have contracted dengue will start showing symptoms after some days.

In the case of chikungunya, an infected person will start showing symptoms after 3days. In the case of dengue, an infected person will start showing symptoms after 4 to 7 days. While dengue and chikungunya can be treated with aspirin, the former can't be treated with a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory.
