A photostream is a centralized place for assigning photos across all your ios devices. Every time you take a picture with your iPhone or iPad or import one into your personal computer, it gets further into your photostream. From there, it starts to appear on all your Apple devices. The photostream is a very outdated photo-sharing app that has long since been supplanted with the iCloud photo library.

The new iCloud photo library is Apple’s solution to delivering a better and more efficient way to control and retrieve all your pictures and videos across all your iOS devices, including Mac, iPad, and iPhone. The idea is to decrease the time you spend on managing your digital memory albums and concentrate on getting more creative. The distinction between the two rests in how the syncing works across both the photo-sharing features. My photostream is Apple’s cloud-based photo-sharing package that stores your current photos in the cloud and synchronizes them across all your cloud-connected devices.
