EST stands for Eastern Standard Time. MST stands for Mountain Time. Eastern Time is going to be two hours ahead of Mountain Time. It is important to know these different times because there will be instances when you would need to talk to people from different time zones. What if you would need to accommodate them all in one call?

This means that when the time in EST is 11 AM, it is 9 AM in MST. There are other time zones that are available in different parts of the world. These time zones can be helpful. Take note that EST is the time zone for the east coast side of North America. MST should not be confused with MDT which means Mountain Daylight Time.

This time zone encompasses the east coast of North America, particularly during winter and late autumn. During summer, it is called Eastern Daylight Time and Eastern Standard Time during winter. Since time zones usually change when seasons change, the time zone during the shortest days of winter and autumn is known as MST or Mountain Standard Time. Since the capital of the United States of America uses Eastern Standard Time, this time zone is usually regarded as the de facto time or the actual time zone of the United States of America.
