Gout is known to affect the joints more directly as compared to bursitis. Bursitis usually affects the sacs that surround the joint. Bursitis occurs because of the overuse of certain joints.

If you would place excessive pressure on your joints all the time, this is a condition that you may start to have. Sometimes, it can also be caused by gout, so some people may have gout and bursitis at the same time. Gout happens when there are crystals that start to appear on the joints of the body.
