The memory of a computer is important because it holds all of the components of the computer, including documents, applications, and photos. There are two types of computer storage, which are Volatile and Non-Volatile Storage.

Volatile memory is the type of memory that requires power to be on the device at all times. It only maintains the power when it is connected to the power. Non-Volatile storage differs because it is able to store information, even when the computer is not connected to the power. An example of volatile store is RAM, whereas an example of non-volatile storage is a floppy disk or a flash drive.
