The main difference between deductive reasoning and inductive reasoning is that deductive reasoning comes from looking at a situation, an experiment, or something and drawing your conclusions. It is based on the notion that we all have common sense and reasoning. Inductive reasoning is based on the hypothesis and the end conclusion. This hypothesis means that you are still searching for answers, but you have reached a probable conclusion through reasoning. This analysis is why inductive reasoning is also called “bottom-up reasoning.” The cause and effect reasoning, in this case, is utilized to prove that the conclusion is correct.

On the contrary, deductive reasoning is the exact opposite and is often called “top down line of reasoning.” Deductive reasoning is more of a step by step process in which explanations that are believed to be correct are pursued. Deductive reasoning follows the steps that need to be taken in order to test a hypothesis, and the conclusion is viewed as the hypothesis in inductive reasoning.

Deductive reasoning has basically observed to be usually viewed as top to bottom kind of reasoning, while inductive reasoning is usually viewed as a bottom-up kind of reasoning. In inductive reasoning, the cause and consequences or effect analysis of a certain situation are usually taken into account. The cause-effect analysis is used as the premise for forming the conclusion, which would then be used for making the decisions.

Deductive reasoning has basically observed to be usually viewed as top to bottom kind of reasoning,
Deductive Reasoning is usually based on the general premise. While inductive reasoning, on the other hand, induces different premises for reasoning. Deductive reasoning is also based on verified and true premises and also the true conclusion. While inductive reasoning has wide generalizations that are based on different observations. Deductive reasoning applies scientific processes to test the hypothesis, but for inductive research, the conclusion is also the hypothesis because there is no process of testing the hypothesis. Deductive reasoning usually follows some steps, procedures, or processes, while inductive reasoning just applies broad generalizations.
