Republic and democracy are two similar systems of government in that both systems empower the citizens as the major decision making factor in governance. The citizens are responsible for the election of a few individuals that have been chosen based on a mutual agreement to perform governing functions on their behalf. However, how similar they are, there exists a variation instance of the demarcations placed on the government legally. Democracy does not allow the government to infringe on some of its basic principles, which are the basic right of the people.
These rights are the foundations upon which democracy is built; they include freedom of assembly and speech, inclusiveness and equality, membership, consent, voting, right to life, and minority rights. Also, the majority rule is also one important factor that is worthy of note in a democratic system. In a republican system of government, the county is seen not from the perspective of someone's property or affair to be ruled just by individuals or family but rather as a public affair. Elections are made by the county peoples to decide on individuals to act on their behalf in the running of the government and the making of laws. Refuting decriminalization or a System of marginalizing to the faction of people either based o class, economy or politics is one of the core values of the republic System of God. It is believed that each and every individual should be treated with equality.

Democracy is the direct rule of people. The rule of the majority characterizes democracy. Democracy is regarded as the form of government in which the supreme power is with people, and they put this into practice during elections.
The Republic applies to the standard way of government. The Republic is associated with all of the other republics in the world. The Republic pertains to the election of a legislative body, a judiciary to uphold justice and law, which preserves the sanctity of the country.
The Constitution recognizes individual rights. Both the Republic and democracy use the Constitution to discern between right and wrong. With both democracy and Republic, the government is elected by the people. The main difference is that democracy is concerned with majority rule, while the republic rules according to law.
