A CT Scan is normally more expensive when compared to an ultrasound process. Another striking thing about a CT scan routine is its quickness in getting done. It takes just around 5 minutes in contrast with the ultrasound that spans up to about 15 minutes. CT scan comes with a demerit of exposure to some amount of radiation. It’s been proved that the amount of radiation exposure to during the 5 minutes routine can equal the total amount of radiation one will get from 3 years of background Data, which makes it not conducive for women and children.

Ultrasounds, on the contrary, comes with a rather no exposure to radiation effect this owns to their use of high-frequency sound Waves in giving out scan results. One of their limitations is, for instance, they do not have the capacity to give out images of any bone structures, although they can be used for internal organs and widely used in prenatal care.

Ultrasound and CT scans are two different types of noninvasive medical tests. CT stands for Computed Tomography Scan. A CT scan is a procedure that utilizes X-rays to deliver images of specific areas of the body. On the other hand, Ultrasound is a medical test that utilizes sound waves to display a picture of the organs in the body. CT scan uses a form of digital geometry processing, which is used to produce a three -dimensional image of the inside of the body.

In an ultrasound, the images produced are often called sonograms. This type of test is frequently used on pregnant women to check on the health of the baby growing inside them. Sonography is the practice of using the ultrasound frequency to create various images inside the body. Ultrasounds are typically used for creating images of tendons, muscles, joints, vessels, and internal organs. The images of both the CT scan and the Ultrasound may be used to help diagnose what is seen.
