If I say there is a no difference bell peppers and capsicum, it is simply because a bell pepper is just a type of capsicum. Capsicum belongs to any of several tropical American plants of the genus Capsicum. According to history, capsicum originated from America. However, there are many names for this plant, and this actually depends on where it is cultivated and its type being cultivated.

This is one of the little differences between the two. For example, a type of capsicum is called red peppers in the United States of America, whereas it is known as capsicum in countries like India, Australia, New Zealand, etc. Another difference you would notice is that there is capsaicin in capsicum, whereas this chemical does not exist in red peppers. This chemical is the reason capsicum gives a burning sensation. Because of the soothing flavor and taste of capsicum, it is used in dishes.

Bell peppers are a healthy addition to your green salad. They are high in vitamins and minerals. They contain vitamins A, C, E, B-complex, it also has magnesium, iron, potassium, magnesium, and selenium. Some other minerals include lutein, phytochemicals, and carotenoids. They minimize bad cholesterol, ease inflammation, help to alleviate pain, and control diabetes.

Along with putting them in salads, red peppers are also useful in soup, as a dip with hummus or some other dip. Stuffed peppers are also a popular Italian dish. Capsicum has been used for many purposes like vegetables, medicine, and spices. The only difference between bell peppers and capsicum is that capsicum produces a burning sensation, and it seems to affect the whole-body system. Capsicum can often be found in capsule form at your local health food store, as they are a popular supplement.
