A pet is part of family. Domestic animals can also be apart of family, but they will not get the same amount of love as a pet.

Some people may assume that pets and domestic are the same but actually, they are not the same. When you say that an animal is your pet, this is an animal that you would consider as your family. It would be treated like family.

They are animals that have learned to appreciate the companionship of humans as normal. Domestic animals are the animals that can also live with humans but they do not offer the same type of love and affection that pets give. Domestic animals are normally tame but they do not usually crave human companionship the same way that pets do. Some examples of domestic animals are chickens, cows, and goats.
