Libel is known to be a type of statement that has been made in a written or oral form wherein another person or a company is being described with an unjust and unfavorable impression. Slander, on the other hand, refers to a type of statement that has been spoken about someone that will cause other people to think unfavorably of a company or someone else.

For example, there are some people who will say that a person is gay, whether it is true or not, but the main goal of the person who is creating the statement is the person’s reputation will be tarnished.

It can be because the person is up for a promotion, and another person would like to run the person’s chances.
