There are only a few key differences between the two versions of this book by J.K Rowling. One of them is that the kid’s version of the story has more colorful and vivid illustrations, while the adult version contains more complex sketches or illustrations. Once the book attained popularity among adults as well as children, the cover of the book was published with two different covers, which acknowledges the subtle differences between the two age groups, and this was a savvy marketing decision that worked like a charm.

Another difference is that the font size between the two versions. The font size in the adult version is smaller than in the children’s version. It is also worth mentioning there are differences in British English and American English books. The is a different language used in the British English tale because the British spell words differently.

Harry Potter, as a whole, is a book basically written and directed towards kids. Therefore it is safe to put it this way that the primary consumer or market for the book Harry Potter was actually kids. It was intended for kids. However, the book gained popularity and became so popular even amongst adults too. It was then that there came the first striking difference between the two versions of the books. The authors and publishers decided that the kid’s version and adult version should be different in terms of their covers.

The kid’s version was designed in such a way that the cover has a very colorful illustration, while the adult version has a very sophisticated illustration that employed the use of black and dark colors. There is no difference in the text whatsoever. The adult version has a smaller font size when compared to the kid’s version, which has a bigger font size.
