Although both Core i5 and Core i7 are two types of processors from Intel, there are some differences between the two. In terms of price, Core i7 comes with a price higher than that of Core i5. As would expect, this also plays a major role in Core i7 being a high-performance processor compared to Core i5.

However, the proportion of Core i7 is still maintained in Core i5, making it more available in the market compared to Core i7. Another difference is that both use a different memory channel. Unlike Core i5, which uses a dual memory channel, Core i7 uses triple memory channel.

Although the dual memory channel in Core i5 gives more speed to the system, the triple memory channel in Core i7 makes its performance more superior when compared to Core i5. The hyper-threading technology in the two is another differentiating feature. This makes the cores in Core i5 to be four, whereas it makes that of Core i7 to be eight.
