Hydroxychloroquine is a drug that has many uses. It is used to prevent, as well as treat, cases of malaria. Along with that, the medication can be used to treat symptoms of lupus and arthritis. Doctors are also looking at it as a way to subside the effects of the coronavirus.

However, despite these things the medication can treat, there are side effects which the user should be aware of. One of those side effects is issues with the heart, including an abnormal heart rate. The medication can also cause the muscles to be weak. This is why the FDA is warning against the use of the medication for those with COVID-19

There are some people who are familiar with hydroxychloroquine and another related drug which is called chloroquine. These are now medications that are being used to treat different autoimmune diseases. Yet, some people are saying that this can be a drug that can also be effective against COVID 19.

There are not enough details to prove this. Some of the possible side effects that people may experience are the following: headache, dizziness, stomach cramps, vomiting, and so much more. Those who encounter these side effects are recommended to let their doctors know about it.

There are also some people who have reported that their heartbeat tends to slow down after taking the medication. This means that this is not too ideal for heart patients.

There are a lot of people right now who have gotten very interested in hydroxychloroquine, probably because this is one of the medications that is said to be effective for the fight against COVID 19. There are some people who may sometimes get this medication for other conditions.

For example, this is used in order to treat lupus and other autoimmune diseases. Those who take this may experience some side effects such as having headaches, weak pulse, a slow heart rate, muscle weakness, and so much more. Some of the symptoms can usually fade over time, but if you feel that the symptoms are serious, it is best that you get yourself checked immediately.

The FDA is warning against the use of this drug. It has not been demonstrated as being safe or effective against COVID-19. There is a lot of controversy surrounding this drug because it could cause abnormal heart rhythms and a dangerously rapid heart rate.

It can also cause headaches, skin rash, chest pain, severe dizziness, prolonged heart rate and weak pulse, muscle weakness, numbness or tingling, low blood sugar, low blood cell counts, nausea and vomiting, or stomach pain. The FDA announcements may bring an end to unsubstantiated claims about hydroxychloroquine. As of now, there are no proven effective treatments for COVID-19.
