The main difference between glass and ceramic is the material that is normally used. Ceramics will have a crystalline atomic structure while the overall atomic structure of glass is non-crystalline. Glass can sometimes be considered as a type of ceramic.

This means that while this is a type of solid, the positioning of the molecules is highly different from each other. According to some theories, ceramic is known to be stronger than glass. There are a lot of modern ceramics right now that are made with various structures that will make them more durable as compared to the usual type of glass.
