When you say RNC, this means Remote Desktop Protocol. This is a type of protocol that was built by Microsoft to ensure that different users will be able to use their computers remotely. VNC means Visual Networking Computing.

This is an open platform that will allow the desktop to share information in a visual manner. For example, you would like to share information from your computer to another computer, you can use VNC for that.

Both of these will allow the computers to become more graphically capable as compared to before. One difference is that VNC would need to connect to a computer directly while RDP will be able to share it through a server.

Remote desktop happens to be a term that is popularly used in referring to a kind of software that is used in connecting to a remote computer in order to run other applications or execute commands on the computer. The commands, clicks, and keystrokes are being sent to the remote computer, and this will send the desktop looks images to the user.

A similar software type that carries out the same function is the VNC, which means Virtual Network Computing. A lot of this software that remote desktop is present in their names are used and fixed to a particular operating system, while Virtual Network Computing happens to be a cross-platform application.

Talking in terms of their performances, remote desktop software is known to frequently perform faster than Virtual Network Computing. In addition, VNC happens to be inherent software that is unsecured, while the remaining remote desktop software is secured already.
