Espresso and lattes are two popular drinks in the coffee world. Espresso is prepared by forcing hot pressurized liquid into its finely ground coffee beans. It is prepared in an espresso machine. The process of making espresso is both involved and interesting.

Espresso machines hold coffee grounds in what is known as a portafilter. When the espresso is purged, a small amount of water runs through, and when the finely ground coffee turns into espresso, it is quite a sight to behold. Espresso is a treat for coffee lovers, especially since it is blended in drinks called lattes.

Pure espresso is different from coffee because it does not contain milk. Since it does not have any other ingredients, it is also more potent than a latte and a typical cup of coffee. Lattes are created with espresso, milk, and flavored syrup. Lattes have their fan base, as coffeehouses and chains everywhere offer different flavored lattes.
