NFL stands for the National Football League, and AFL stands for American Football League. In 1970, the NFL and the AFL merged to form pro league, and the ambition for both parties was to reel in more football fans and finances.

Even though the two different leagues were rivals, they decided to integrate due to public demand. NFL and AFL were comprised of four divisions with sixteen teams each. Their logos are a little bit different.

NFL has a blue N in the center, and the AFL logo has a red A in the center. NFL has it’s playoffs to be able to determine the next champion at the end of each regular season. Before the end of each season, the champion team proves their worth and plays at the Super Bowl.
