ATX stands for Advanced Technology Extended. It is the most prevalent form factor for desktop cases and motherboards. It was a specification introduced by Intel as a replacement for the incredibly old AT design. Nearly ten years after the presentation of ATX, Intel launched BTX, which stands for Balanced Technology Extended.

BTX focuses primarily on improving the cooling of the processor by producing a better amount of airflow and diminishing the number of problems. To attain the cooling goal of BTX, Intel created a new scheme for the locations of parts on the motherboard, so that they do not prevent the airflow.

The processor's location has also been moved to the front of the board, where a certain air funnel can pull air from the front of the case and blow it directly onto the processor. The position of add on slots and the I/O ports in the BTX form factor has been moved around. Despite being a step above ATX in terms of cooling, People did not trust the new form factor, and its momentum was relatively slow. Most computers today still use ATX.

BTX stands for Balanced Technology eXtended. This is known to be one of the form factors of motherboards that are meant to replace ATX. ATX is the older version of the motherboard. The change happened in the year 2004 and 2005. These are standards that were placed by Intel.

The change has made a lot of difference with the type of motherboard that people are using for their computers right now. Take note that BTX can only be used for other motherboards that are used specifically for Intel. There are some boards that can accommodate both ATX and BTX motherboards. If you would like to use a motherboard that can accommodate both, this will be useful for sure.

ATX and BTX stand for differences thing and also have a lot of differences between them
ATX stands for advanced technology extended. It is a popular form for desktop and motherboard cases; it was introduced by Intel to replace the former old design.

On the other hand, BTX stands for balanced technology extended, BTX was introduced to address the heating issues faced by many processors.

A balanced technology extended focus on more airflow than ATX, ATX also requires a certain arrangement of motherboard components to maximize cooling while ATX does not. The IO ports on the ATX board are located on the top while that of BTX is located at the bottom. ATX is still in widespread standard while BTX cases and boards are rarely found in desktop.

ATX stands for Advanced Technology Extended, while BTX stands for Balanced Technology Extended. These products are very popular form factors designed by Intel for motherboards and desktop cases. The ATX was manufactured to replace the previous AT design, and the BTX was made about ten years later to address the heat issues experienced in the use of most recent processors.

BTX is designed in such a way that it generates a greater amount of airflow, thus reducing the number of obstacles, and then cooling the processor. In order to achieve a better functionality of BTX, there are some components rearrangements that are done on the motherboard so as to enhance airflow.

ATX is cheaper, while BTX is found costlier than its counterpart. Due to this factor and some others, ATX is still found to be used more in computers, while cases and motherboards that are compatible with BTX are rare.
