There are a lot of similarities between the NFL and CFL, but there is still a significant difference between them. The defensive and offensive lines vary in both NFL and CFL meaning that CFL is made up of 12 players while NFL comprises 11 players.

They also have differences in their playing field, the playing field for CFL is larger when compared to the playing field of NFL in that the CFL playing field is 110 yards and the width is 65 yard.

The balls used in playing CFL is larger in circumference and also has white stripes on it while the NFL ball has a smaller circumference and has no stripes on it. Each team in NFL is allowed to call timeout three times in each half while in CFL each team is allowed to call timeout only once.

NFL stands for national football league while, on the other hand, CFL stands for the Canadian football league. The teams that are in CFL are given just gree downs, while on the other hand, the NFL team is basically given four downs to earn their first down. The offensive lines and the defensive lines in CFL and that of NFL are very different.

In terms of the number of players, the NFL has just eleven players, while the CFL has twelve players only. The CFL comes with larger and bigger balls because they have more circumference than that of NFL. The CFL balls have white stripes, while the balls used in the NFL do not have any stripes at all.

In the CFL, each team has a time out each in each of their halves while, on the other hand, in NFL, each of the teams has three times out in each of their halves.
