On the other hand, the AK-56 was designed in China, and it was designed as another improved copy of the AK-47; while the 56 there stands for 1956, the year the rifle was manufactured. The two rifles look similar in dimensions, but the AK-56 is not as heavy as the AK-47. The AK-56 weighs 3.8kg, while the AK-47 weighs 4.3kg. The two guns use the same 7.62mm cartridges, and their magazines can contain up to 30 bullets as a round feed system. The two guns can shoot bullets that travel for as long as 400 meters.
