PayPal and Zelle are both ways to send money to people. PayPal was established over 20 years ago, while Zelle is a fairly new establishment. One difference between them is that Zelle is a more secure way to exchange money. This is because it is backed by the bank.

They are more likely to protect the user if someone were to go wrong with the exchange. Many users prefer Zelle because they know it is backed by the bank, giving them they extra level of protection. However, PayPal can be seen as just as secure, for it has their own payment protection program.

Based on popularity, PayPal has been around for over 20 years now and has been proven to be a trusted plug for online payments. Zelle is a new member of the competitive marketplace of the online transaction. It has, however, gained recognition among individuals that have not used PayPal before.

Based on how secure they are for transactions, Zelle is actually a bank-backed app, has an advantage in this case. The app is linked to the mobile banking apps of banks that are supported by Zelle. This actually wins over the trust of users which gives them the feeling that their personal information and their money is safe and secure, the feeling is actually true.

However, though Zelle may seem more secure, PayPal is just as secure. If not more, in the real sense, as PayPal offers a payment protection program for all transactions carried out on PayPal, this program is not offered by Zelle.
