Both black and red grapes are healthy fruit, which is consumed all over the world. Grapes consist of many vitamins, minerals, fibers, and fatty acids. Black grapes are considered to be the better choice. They possess a higher concentration of flavonoids, which give the grapes their deep black hue. Black grapes contain more polyphenols.

One cup of black, seedless grapes have only 60 calories, versus red grapes which have 104 calories per cup. The red color of the grapes is due to the flavonoids, which are antioxidant compounds. Black grapes are darker, and the general rule of grapes is the darker the color, the higher the concentration of flavonoids. Also, black grapes are more known for their sweetness, and red grapes are less sweet.
