Mayo is the abbreviation form that is usually used for Mayonnaise. Mayo is basically an emulsion that consists of salt, egg yolks, oil, and vinegar as its basic primary ingredients. Mayo is like the base or initial material for many varieties of sandwich spreads and salad dressings. The miracle whip is actually one of those salad dressings that employ the use of Mayo.

Apart from Mayo, some other ingredients in the miracle whip include some spices which change its tastes and improve the flavor by making it be sweeter. Mayo basically is just Mayonnaise, while Miracle whip is the combination or mixture of Mayonnaise and some other ingredients such as spices and so on.

There are so many companies that sell Mayo, while the only company that sells a miracle whip is the Kraft. Mayo is so popular in various forms all over the world, while the miracle whip has its popularity only in Canada.
