There are so many computer management and storage companies out there, EMC and NetApp are just two examples of those companies. Both companies allow the user to store their data in the server without any need to process the data from the user's CPU or memory. Netapp is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, and it was created in 1992. NetApp uses an operating system known as Data ONTAP.

NetApp strives to provide services that are affordable as it helps store and manage your data.EMC, on the other hand, was created in 1979, and it is headquartered in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. This shows EMC is the older of the two. One of the major differences between the two companies is that EMC is using Storage Area Network (SAN) as its storage, while NetApp uses Local Area Network (LAN) as its storage. Examples of protocols used by NetApp and EMC are iSCSi protocol, fiber channel protocol, etc.
