A gamete is the type of cell that needs to fuse with another cell so that conception will take place. Females will be able to release a gamete, which is called an egg cell. Males will also release a form of gamete, but it will be smaller. This will be called a sperm cell. Zygote, on the other hand, is a type of cell that comes from the fertilization of the sperm and the egg.
A gamete will have a copy of the autosomes, which can be an X or Y while the zygote will have two copies of the autosomes, which means that there will be XX and YY. The gamete can be found in the testes for males and the ovaries for females. The zygote can usually be found in the fallopian tube of the female reproductive system.
