Your scalp can be itchy due to dry scalp, and the scalp renews its cells every day, and the new cells replace the old ones, which shed. The cause of this could be for a few different reasons, including shampoo that dries out your hair, very cold weather, the buildup of chemicals on the scalp, and poor diet could all easily be the culprit. Having an extremely itchy scalp, coupled with small white flakes shaking down from the head like snow, is a sign of itchy scalp. An excellent moisturizing shampoo could be the way toward freedom from flakes. Dandruff, on the other hand, is a marginal amount of dead skin cells shedding off and could be caused by excess oil on the scalp. An oily scalp can lead to a buildup of a yeast-like substance that feeds off the dead skin cells of the scalp. The shedding comes in the form of white clumps. Skipping your conditioner could be the answer.
