Twitter is generally a free web service, as long as you have internet. Tweets are rampant with emoji and characters such as # and @ in them. With Twitter, hashtags are another form of language to which we have all become acclimated. The hashtags make the tweets more accessible with the assistance of a search engine. Texting is a service that is provided by the Mobile phone company. Texting is not free, as it comes up with added charges on your phone bill. Texting has also become commonplace on the internet, as individual companies offer call and text services over the web. There are some differences between the two. For example, Twitter is restricted to 140 characters per message, while texting is limited to 160 characters per message. Twitter uses hashtags, while Skype does not.
