Consumer goods are items that are purchased by the general public. The items that you purchase from the grocery store are considered as consumer goods. Industrial goods are different because there are specific people or industries that purchase goods.
For example, there are some people who need to purchase complex product lines because these are items that can be very complicated. Not everyone will be able to use them. Those who get them should be skilled enough to know how these items can be used. Industrial goods are actually more expensive than consumer goods because of the limited market. The complicated materials used are also a big factor.
