What is the difference between Ruby and Garnet?

Rubies and garnets may seem similar to each other in appearance, but they have some differences too. Rubies are considered to be valuable and would sell for high amounts, whereas garnets will not. One thing that you should remember is that rubies can be very brilliant and they are deep red in color.
One thing that will let you know if you are looking at a ruby or a garnet is to check the way that it looks. The ruby should look very red in color, and you would not see hints of any other color aside from red. If you look closely and you start to see some oranges, then you know that you are looking at garnet, and you should not pay a premium price for it.
