Linguistic and semiotic anthropology is how language and other human communication systems contribute to the reproduction, transmission, and transformation of culture. It is concerned with language and other systems' role in transforming society as power interactions, ideology, subcultural representation, class, gender, and ethnic identity.

Medical anthropology studies health both cross-culturally and over evolutionary time scales. Anthropology contributes to our knowledge of health in diverse, social, political, economic, cultural, and gender contexts through time and space. Evolutionary anthropology is the study of humans and primates in their biological dimension.

It investigates the biological and social factors that have influenced humans' evolution and other primates that produce, preserve, or alter contemporary genetic and physiological variation. Social-cultural anthropology handles institutions and models of social behavior cross-culturally to determine more conventional theories about the parallels and distinctions between human communities and cultures.

The five fields of anthropology include psychological, medical, development, environmental, and urban. Medical is a subfield of anthropology that correlates with biological, cultural, social, and linguistic anthropology to successfully make decisions concerning the health and welfare of human beings. Psychological is a subfield of anthropology that analyzes the interaction of mental and cultural processes. It also focuses on variables within a particular cultural group, such as language, history, and practices.

Urban is a subcategory of anthropology concerned with poverty, urban space, social relations, and urbanization. Environmental is a subspecialty within the field of anthropology that assumes an active role in studying the relationships between humans and their environment through space and time. Finally, development refers to the notion of anthropological perceptions of the multidisciplinary branches of study.

The correct answers to this question are social-cultural, physical or biological, archaeological, linguistic, and applied anthropology. There are five specialized fields of anthropology. Socio-anthropology focuses on the study of human cultures and how they compare to one another. Physical or Biological anthropology focuses on the origin of humans.

Archaeological anthropology focuses on how cultures develop over time. Linguistic anthropology focuses on the language of people and how some languages that certain cultures speak have changed over time. Applied anthropology uses the four previous fields. This is because this type of anthropology studies how the other fields are used and applied.
