Can men have breast cancer?

Yes, men can develop breast cancer
Many people are not aware that men can develop breast because men do not have milk-producing breast tissues. However, the breast is not always limited to the milk-producing gland. Men have breast tissues, they can develop breast cancer, but this type of cancer is rare in men.

There is no denying that most breast cancers occur in women, and only about 1% of cases occur in men. In fact, only about 1 in 1000 men are likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer.

Although male breast cancer is more common in elderly men, it can be diagnosed at any age. Most men diagnosed with breast cancer have Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma (DIC). Other rare breast cancers diagnosed in men are Paget disease and inflammatory breast cancer.
