The answer to this question is both YES and NO If cancer of the breast is detected at early stages, it is curable, but if it is detected at late stages, it may not be curable. Breast cancer is staged 0, and 1 is treatable, and the survival rate is high. At this stage, the cancer is still localized to the breast. At late stages, the cancer cells have spread to other parts of the body, affecting other organs; this makes it difficult to cure such conditions.

Even if breast tissue is excised, it cannot undo the damage done to other organs. People with late-stage breast cancer are treated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery, and hormone therapy. In summary, early stages are curable, and survival rate is high, but when the cancer is at late stages and has metastasized to other organs, it is much harder to treat.

Breast cancer is considered to be curable if it would be detected early. People can always get themselves checked. They can also check if they can detect some lumps or irregular bumps on their breasts. The earlier that breast cancer is detected, the easier the treatments are going to be. When breast cancer is not detected early, it will be harder to come up with treatments that can help control the disease.

Cancer may spread to other parts of the body, which can make the cure even harder because different areas would need to be targeted. Some women would need to undergo a mastectomy in order to remove the breast that is afflicted with cancer just to control the disease.
