Some people would be in a state before they actually become diagnosed with diabetes, wherein they would start to show some symptoms of having the condition. Someone who has prediabetes will have blood sugar that is higher than normal, but it is still not too high to be considered as diabetes. Those who develop Type II Diabetes will have this type of condition first.

Normally, those who are diagnosed with this will be recommended to do lifestyle change because this will definitely make some changes with their blood sugar levels. They will have the power to make their blood sugar levels normal again. There are some signs that people have to watch for to know if they have prediabetes. Some may experience fatigue, frequent urination, and also increased thirst.

Prediabetes means that your blood sugar level is getting higher than normal, but not high enough to be termed as diabetes. Prediabetes occurs when your body does not make or is resistant to the hormone, insulin. The fasting blood sugar of a prediabetic patient ranges between 100 mg per dL and 125 mg per dL, while diabetes has a fasting blood sugar of 126 mg per dL and above. Prediabetes can progress to diabetes. In fact, most people with type 2 diabetes had prediabetes first. In most cases, prediabetes does not cause symptoms, so it is possible to have prediabetes and be unaware of it. Treating prediabetes can help prevent many health problems such as diabetes, cardiovascular problems, kidney, and eye problems.
