The correct answer to this question can vary on who it is being asked to. Christmas Day is one day. It falls on December 25 every year. However, the Christmas spirit lasts for months. Many people begin feeling it in October, after Halloween, because many stores begin selling Christmas decor and gifts during this month.

Others feel it after Thanksgiving when it is time to put up the Christmas tree. Christmas is not just a day, but it is a feeling. Despite the warmer temperatures, the air of holiday joy takes over during this time of year of season giving.

There are 12 days of Christmas that are being celebrated in the United States right now, usually from December 25 to January 6. We can take our cue from the song “12 Days of Christmas.” What a lot of people may not be aware of is Christmas used to be banned in America.

There were just so many things that people are more focused on that Christmas is not considered to be one of the most important holidays to celebrate. Christmas is meant to celebrate the nativity of Jesus. This has also given people the chance to give gifts, take breaks, and just enjoy the holidays in general.

Under commercial terms, it starts the first time "Last Christmas" is heard on the radio in early November, and it ends when the after Christmas sales begin around December 27th. Under religious terms, the Christmas season runs from Christmas Eve through the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, which is the Sunday after the Epiphany. The Epiphany is when the kings come to see baby Jesus.

The Octave of Christmas concludes on January 1st, which is a holy day of commitment. From December 25th up to February 2nd, the Vatican leaves up their tree and nativity until then. This timeframe is, altogether, forty days. Traditionally speaking, take out the strict and traditional religious variables, and Christmas is for one day, which is December 25th.

Due to the multi-cultural nature of the United States, Christmas is celebrated in different ways by many people. One thing we know is that Christmas Day, December 25, is a federal holiday in the United States. December 25 became a federal holiday in the United States in 1870.

The day after Christmas, December 26 (Boxing Day) is a state holiday in most places. In most places, Christmas is celebrated on these two dates. However, right from the beginning of December, even into the New Year, Christmas is in the air. You can tell it’s Christmas season from the first day of December.
