Peter Handke has 186 books on Goodreads. Hanke's most popular book is a 1972 semi-autobiographical novel, called "A sorrow beyond dreams," which is based on the life of Handke’s mother. She lived during the Nazi era, the war, and the postwar consumer economy. His mother sacrificed herself by overdosing on sleeping pills. "Short letter, long farewell" is a 1972 novel as well.
