An excel workbook is different from excel worksheet. For those that do not know much about excel, they think, but excel workbook and excel worksheet are synonymous.

Excel workbook is the entire book or document. The synonym to this is an excel file. Each excel document is regarded as a book.

By default, a new excel workbook is saved as book one until you change this to the desired title.

Excel worksheet is a single sheet on the workbook. It is organized in a tabular form with rows and columns.

It is possible to have multiple worksheets in a single workbook. The first worksheet is saved as “sheet 1” by default.

The best way to understand the difference between these two is to use the illustration of a book. An excel workbook is the entire book, and the worksheets are pages in the book.

A workbook is an Excel file that holds entered related information. The data included on each worksheet usually labels workbooks. Each workbook contains three worksheets, and the worksheet is a page in each workbook. Each page is filled with a certain amount of data.

A worksheet is comprised of data that can be manipulated to design charts, graphs, or arrays that visually project the primary goal of the data that was originally entered. The worksheet is what shows what the workbook entails.

Without the worksheets, the workbook would be empty. A workbook cannot necessarily be manipulated. The manipulation of data is directly through worksheets.
