Yes, I am of the opinion that children below the age of 18 should be allowed to watch the television series, 13 Reasons Why.

The series address issues such as sexual assault, bully, and betrayal. These issues are mostly experienced by young teenagers. It will make no sense if people who are most affected by these issues are not allowed to watch.

I agree that the show contains graphic content. Children below 18 should be allowed to watch the show under proper supervision by parents or guardians.
If you believe the contents are not appropriate for children, the novel of the same story by Jay Asher should be recommended.

I think this question needs to be answered by properly considering the various intentions of the writer of the novel and the TV show. 13 Reasons why was written by Jay Asher to draw people's attention to the series of social issues like bullying, sexual assaults, which a lot of teenagers are passing through in society. I think children should be allowed to watch the show, although under proper guidance without considering the fact that the show contains graphic contents.

I actually don't see any sense in creating something when the real consumers are not allowed to use it. I see this show as a way of creating awareness to the parents about the various problems that are facing teenagers in high schools, and particularly in the society. However, if parents think 13 Reasons why it isn't appropriate for their children based on their developmental stage, then reading the novel should be highly recommended for them.

I don’t think that it will be appropriate for children who are below 18 years of age to watch the series. It is obvious that the series talks about some things that are very problematic especially for young teenagers. They may think that suicide is okay whenever they can think of reasons why they would like to end their life.

Kids should be properly guided. They should not feel entitled to get everything that they want. They have to learn how to stand on their own two feet and to realize that things will not always go their way. Those who are older may become less affected by the things that they will watch when they become hooked in watching the series.
