The IELTS and the ESOL are both tests that people can take when they want to gain access to other countries for different reasons. IELTS may be taken by students who would like to prove their command of the English language.

Take note that aside from the written exam, they will also be required to speak and listen to the English language. Those who are taking ESOL would need to take this test in order to gain a visa to countries wherein English is the main language. Passing this test will provide the visa that people need in order to have the right to earn a position in companies that they would like to work for.

Two different tests that assess a person's capacity to understand the English language include ESOL and IELTS. Both are taken by people who are deemed to be non-native English speakers, meaning that English is not their first language or national language used in the person's country of origin. These tests can gauge a person's ability to speak, read, listen, and write in English.

The IELTS employs only one set of examinations to test the individual's overall grasp of the English language. The outcome of these examinations is only valid for two years. After that, the person will need to retake the test. ESOL applies a number of different examinations to determine a particular individual's competence in the English language, and the results of this test do not expire.
