Diwali is a five-day festival that occurs each year. Though it happens every year, there are no set dates. It could be in any month late in the year.

For the year of 2019, Diwali will be on October 27. The five day festival period will begin two days prior to that, on October 25 and the main celebration on the 27.

For the year 2020, the main celebration will be on November 14. The start of the five-day festival in 2020 will be on November 12. Regardless of when it is celebrated, the theme of light over darkness and good over evil stays the same.

Diwali for the year 2019 will start on October 27, 2019. Diwali for 2020 will fall on November 14. There are a lot of people who feel that this is one of the biggest celebrations that they can participate in so they make a point to be there whenever this festival takes place. There are some non-Hindus who also make it a point to be there because they know that they can celebrate with other people.

This is known to be the equivalent of Christmas in India. Take note though that this is not only being celebrated in India but also in other parts of the world. Take note that the celebration will always be a day earlier in South India so it will be October 26 for 2019 and November 13 for 2020.

There is no fixed date for the celebration of Diwali. However, Diwali is celebrated mostly in October, and at times the celebration can be had in November. The timing actually depends on the cycle of the moon. Diwali lasts for five days, and the main celebration happens on the third day. For 2019, Diwali will be celebrated on October 27. Since Diwali lasts only for a period of five days, it means the Diwali celebration will start on October 25, while the main celebration will be on October 27. For 2020, Diwali will be celebrated on November 14.

This means the celebration will officially start on November 12 and ends on November 16. Diwali means the victory of light over darkness. On the third day of the celebration, which happens to be the main day. People will be seen decorating their homes with different kinds of ornaments. Worshipers will also go to the temple to offer sacrifices and prayers to goddess Lakshmi.
