Having the knowledge of the root words that make up philosophy; "Philo," meaning love, and "Sophia," meaning knowledge. Philosophy, to me, simply means the love of exercising and application of thought and reasoning. I will also define philosophy as the act of putting one's logic and reasoning into use, in order to discover and establish a new fact or elaborate on an established fact. Philosophy is based on facts.

As a matter of fact, I see philosophy as a choice. In the sense that, there are no fixed pattern of reasoning or doing things in philosophy. You are absolutely responsible for your own school of thought. Another point I will make based on my own perspective of philosophy is that; it influences or determines your way of life. Also, philosophy varies from place to place and is also subject to change at any time. I can say one of the major determinant components of culture is philosophy.
