Chandrayaan-2 is India's first moon landing mission. The mission included an orbiter, Lander, and Rover to explore the unexplored South pole of the moon. So far, it has accomplished 90 to 95 percent of the mission's objectives.

All the apparatus and sensors of the Lander operated successfully and proved the reliability of many new technologies, including variable thrust propulsion. The space agency stated that the exact launch and mission management had secured a long life of about seven years for the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter instead of the proposed one year. The orbiter has a sufficient amount of fuel onboard for it to operate for seven years.
