What is the difference between Nationality and Citizenship?

Some people may assume that citizenship and nationality are the same but actually, these are two different things. Nationality is normally used to refer to a race. It can be considered more as an ethnic concept. Citizenship is considered to be a term that can be used more legally. Nationality will also show the type of race that the person belongs to depending on where he was born or what his ethnicity is.

For example, a person’s nationality is Indonesian even if he was born elsewhere. Citizenship refers to where the person lives. An Indonesian may be a dual citizen especially if he was born in another country or he may forget about his citizenship because he is living in a different country other than Indonesia.
