IA64 and x64 are two different things, but people may assume that they are the same. IA64 is known to be exclusively used by Intel, while the X64 can be used by people. IA64 is known to be used for making some high-end applications, but the x64 is commonly used for desktops.

IA64 is known to be very slow when it comes to adapting to the new technologies that are available. X64 can move very fast, and it will have the ability to adapt to the new changes immediately. IA64 cannot be used anymore for the new Microsoft Windows that will be released in the future. The X64 can still be used for future Microsoft Windows.

IA64 stands for Itanium Architecture and x64 is the extension to the x86 architecture. The IA64 is the first version of 64 bits microprocessor made by Intel to extend beyond the 32-bit architecture available at that time. IA64 was designed by EPIC and it was introduced in the year 2001. It is completely exclusive to Intel. IA64 is incompatible with the x86 processors as it cannot run on x86 applications.

IA64 was proposed to be the “next best thing after the 32 bits” but it did not perform X64 was made as an alternative for the IA64 architecture. AMD was the first to create processors that extended the 32-bit architecture to 64-bit architecture. The x64 is a lot faster than the IA64 which takes time to adopt new technologies. Hope you find this information helpful.

IA64 means the 64 Itanium architecture while x64 refers to the 64-bit extension that can be found in the x86 architecture. One of the main differences between the two is the IA64 is only available for Intel users while the x64 can be used by non-Intel users too. The IA64 is also preferred more by people who are planning to make some high-end applications.

The x64 was originally made to be used by desktops but in time, it was improved and scaled up so that it can be used for other purposes. Even if the IA64 is meant for more complicated processes, this is considered to be slower as compared to the x64.

The IA64 is said to be exclusive to be used by Intel while all can use the x64. IA64 systems are also not able to run applications that are older than the x86 applications. The x64 systems will be able to use old applications easily. When it comes to computer technologies, there may also be some differences.

For IA64, the use of new computer technologies is still a bit slow, but when the x64 is used, latest computer technologies can be used fast. Microsoft Windows will not be able to use the IA64, but the x64 will still support Microsoft Windows without any problems.
