Chain drive and belt drives are two different types of drives used for the purpose of locomotion and transfer of power within a machine. The chain drive is made of chains just as its name implies. These chains are teeth like of one end with corresponding parts on the other end. It is much stronger than the belt drive. Chain drives are made from metals which makes them more durable. Chain drive works when two ends link together. This causes the movement of the chain to generate power. Chain drives are present in motorcycles and bikes.

On the other hand, the belt drive is powered by a belt just at the name implies. It is not as strong and durable as a chain belt as it is made from synthetic materials such as rubber. Unlike the chain drive that has teeth like appearance, the belt drive is actually smooth and flat. Belt drives require less lubrication and adjustment. Hope you find this helpful.

The chain drive is known to be powered by the chain loop and is usually made out of metal. This is different from the belt drive that is being powered by a belt that is normally made out of rubber. These two types of belts are normally used for machines that are used to transfer different items from one place to another.

The chain drive is considered to be more durable and stronger as compared to the belt drive. This means that if you know that you are going to use a tool for a long time, you need to make sure that it is being powered by a belt drive. Otherwise, you may need to replace your machine often.

Chain drives are made out of metal, and they can be more commonly seen in bicycles and certain types of automobile. This is considered to be stronger because of its primary material. The belt drive is commonly used for different machines. For example, if the are some products that are being manufactured, the belt drive will make sure that the process will go on smoothly.

A chain drive will sometimes require lubrication to ensure that it will move properly while a belt drive will not require lubrication to function correctly. The only thing about belt drives is they would need to be replaced more often as compared to chain drives.
