Autobiography and Biography are two ways through which people give accounts and different stories about their lives. This usually includes the various achievements of an individual and the major incidences that occurred while growing up. Autobiography is a self-written literature that expressly explains the story of one's own life. This is written when the individual is still alive. Autobiographies contain factual information because it is written by the actual person.

A biography is a non-fiction piece of literature which is written by an author about another person's life. The biographer should study the life of the person that he or she is writing for their book. A biography explains events which took place in the person's childhood, youth, and adulthood of the person's life, which enlighten the reader as to how and why the person turned out the way they did.

An autobiography is a book which is written by the same person, and they give a first-person account of the events that took place in their own life. Since an autobiography is written in the same person, he or she can be partial to the story, and they may not include every detail or tell the whole truth.

When you read biography and autobiography, you know that you will read about a person’ life but what makes these two different from each other? When you say biography, this is normally about someone else’s life. This means that the author will talk about the life of someone else based on all of the things that he has gathered and researched from people who knew the person or were aware of the circumstances that the person has gone through.

When you say autobiography, this means that the person would like to talk about his life. He is also the author of his own book. An autobiography is usually more emotional as compared to a biography.

Biography and autobiography are known to be about the real stories of people. The main difference between the two is that a biography is written by someone who has studied another person intently to come up with all of the available details that will be placed in the book. Autobiography is also a book but this time, the author talks about his/her experiences in life.
