Every day, the demand for energy keeps on growing as the population and usage of electricity increase to power our homes and gadgets. Sadly, most energy that we consume today is not renewable though there is an effort to use solar and hydro energy to sustain the people widely. Two of the most popular are coal and nuclear energy. Coal energy uses coal wherein a fossil fuel is burned to produce heat to produce energy.

To produce the energy needed, trucks carrying coals are required to deliver every day. Nuclear energy, on the other hand, uses enriched radioactive elements in the process of nuclear fission to produce heat. Due to radioactivity, most nuclear plants have more safety precautions to ensure the safety of the workers as well as the people. This is dangerous in the hands of terrorists; thus, nuclear power plants are safeguarded well.

There are many types of energy. In today’s world, usually, we focus on using nuclear power. Coal energy is not used anymore. Wind energy is used, too, but it is difficult to capture, and it is unexpected. Coal was mined many years ago. There were coal mines where many people in the town would work in the mines. However, it was dangerous because mines could collapse, and they could coal dust would get into the miners’ lungs.

Eventually, the miners might die from black lung disease. Coal energy is not used as much today as it was back then. Today, nuclear power is used, but it is dangerous too. Coal is a nonrenewable resource, so once it is gone, that is it.
