So, when this sauce is applied to food, it makes it spicier or hotter. Salsa originated from the Aztecs, Incas, and Mayans have first used the combination of peppers, tomatoes, herbs on meat meals. In addition, Picante sauce ingredients might have been cooked, but the salsa has raw or fresh ingredients. Picante sauce is also considered to be a resemblance of pico de gallo, and they are chunky and thicker, while salsa is known to be thinner than Picante sauce.
