There are several ways in which our lands are being degraded, such as the destruction of global forests, to the fragmentation of habitat and mining, natural ecosystems are under threat. Today's species are in danger due to human activities and biodiversity is being eroded at such an alarming rate.

Many global commercial forms of agriculture are contributing to problems of environmental degradation, which includes erosion, runoff, water pollution, and a loss of soil fertility. An increase in traveling and trade around the world has perpetuated the eradication of many species. There is also, of course, the pollution of air, water, and land. There is little option for survival but to utilize natural resources. Oil spills are also contributing to the destruction of ecosystems.
