Coconut oil is made up of fat, the majority of which is saturated. Around 14 grams are in one tablespoon. Since coconut butter is made from the whole coconut, it contains saturated fat in the amount of around 10 grams per tablespoon. It contains nutrients that coconut oil lacks, including fiber.

Unlike oil, coconut butter includes all the fat, fiber, and nutrients from the coconut. Coconut oil is generally used for cooking. It is good to drizzle over popcorn or baking.
